*parole, sonorité en rupture pour se libérer d’une chaine qui est encore trop grande**
Au nombre de cinq, les amarrages du projet SALÉ constituent les moments d’incarnation physique, des moments de diffusion et de viralisation de la radio externationale pirate SALÉ.
Ils agrègent des contenus différés produits à l’année par les protagonistes & des directs assurés par des artistes invité·e·s. Chaque amarrage est réverbéré par des radios pirates alliées disséminées sur les territoires où sont ancrés les partenaires cardinaux**.
Ce deuxième amarrage du 5 septembre prochain dévoilera les recherches menées depuis 6 mois au sein des écoles et centres d’arts associés au projet, se distinguera via des live portés par ceux-ci précités et Lou Fauroux, trois artistes de l’Externationale Pirate***, d’une collaboration sonore entre deux radios palermitaines : Radio Dopo et Radio Communs, et également de recherches sonores issues d’une semaine de workshop encadré par Nicolas Montgermont et Elie Bolard et réalisé par de jeunes artistes en collaboration avec l’Institut Français de Palerme.
Les radios SALÉ transmises non par les ondes mais par le net sont expurgées de centralités ; elles sont sans nations, sans frontières, sans régences et fondées du pouvoir de leurs créateur.trice.s.
Le projet SALÉ repose sur des alliances entre territoires et se manifeste sous des régimes de présence hybrides : workshops, laboratoires collectifs, webinaires, protocoles d’échanges et espaces d’expérimentation transfrontaliers opérant simultanément en IRL et en cyberspace.
L’imaginaire de ce projet prend sa source dans des contre-récits, un pan du patrimoine méditerranéen ignoré et dans la symbolique renégate soulignée par son nom même qui fait référence à une société maritime pirate qui s’est forgée en réaction à l’absolutisme de droit divin de monarchies européennes au XVIIe à l’embouchure du fleuve Bouregreg au Maroc.
Ce nom – SALÉ - est ici emprunté comme un ardent appât pour se saisir de la possibilité d’inventer de l’inédit, de faire primer l’audace frondeuse, de formuler des langues nouvelles, vernacularisées, des langues d’usage à l’instar des langues maritimes.
Ce projet prend sa source dans la symbolique du désamarrage, de l’errance, de la dé-territorialisation et du sabotage.
Les stations nomades pirates aspirent à leur déterritorialisation implémentée avec le concours des écoles supérieures en arts Arts2 à Mons (Belgique, à l’ALBA à Beyrouth (Liban), à l’INBA de Tétouan (Maroc), l’ENSAD-Paris (France) et centres d’arts El Madina Art Center d’Alexandrie (Egypte), et Institut Français de Palerme (Italie).
Celles-ci agrègent des artistes engagé.e.s dans la production de contenus sonores expérimentaux qui visent parmi bien des aspirations, celle à la désassimilation des canons d’écoute.
Les langues, les récits seront pluriels et le trait à la ressemblance ne sera pas forcé – aucune ascendance narrative ne prévaudra.
Pirater c’est potentialiser le virtuel dans l’actuel et requalifier perpétuellement ce qui se donne pour immuable et inéluctable.
Les artistes - parmi d’autres - ont cette capacité à hacker, à décoïncider et freaktionnaliser des possibles, comme à potentialiser des technologies d’une façon inattendue.
Invitation leur est donnée pour ensemble écrire de nouveaux récits.

Ces partenaires constituent le cœur de SALÉ. Les protagonistes du projet - jeunes artistes - sont issu·e·s de ce réseau qui accueille en leurs murs les workshops menés par les artistes de l’Externationale Pirate. Ils sont les pivots de ce projet expérimental et externational. En septembre, des stations radios éphémères surgiront de ces territoires alliés, en concomitance à celle du Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles/Paris aka le Vaisseau.

L’Externationale d’Artistes Pirates est une communauté informelle d’artistes conjecturée par Stéphanie Pécourt - instigatrice du projet - qui rassemble des artistes qui freaktionnalisent des médiums et technologies et dont le travail repose sur des philosophies et herméneutiques pirates. Ces artistes sont celles et ceux qui assurent les workshops au sein des territoires allié·e·s et interviennent lors des Amarrages.

Minor language is pure sound material, sound material always heard in relation to its own
abolition as deterritorialized musical sound, a cry that flees all meaning, all composition, all song, all
*speech—a sound in rupture, breaking free from a chain that is still too great**
Numbering five, the dockings of the SALÉ project constitute moments of physical embodiment, moments of broadcast and viralization of the SALÉ international pirate radio station.
They combine pre-recorded content produced throughout the year by the project’s participants with live broadcasts featuring guest artists. Each event is amplified by allied pirate radio stations scattered across the territories where the key partners** are based.
This second event, scheduled for September 5, will showcase the research conducted over the past six months at the schools and arts centers associated with the project. It will feature live performances by the aforementioned artists and Lou Fauroux—three artists from the Externationale Pirate***—as well as a sound collaboration between two Palermo-based radio stations: Radio Dopo and Radio Communs, as well as sound experiments resulting from a week-long workshop led by Nicolas Montgermont and Elie Bolard and carried out by young artists in collaboration with the Institut Français in Palermo.
SALÉ radio broadcasts, transmitted not over the airwaves but via the internet, are stripped of central authority; they are without nations, without borders, without governance, and founded on the power of their creators.
The SALÉ project is based on partnerships between regions and takes the form of hybrid engagement models: workshops, collective labs, webinars, exchange protocols, and cross-border experimental spaces operating simultaneously in the real world and in cyberspace.
The project’s vision draws its inspiration from counter-narratives—a neglected facet of Mediterranean heritage—and from the renegade symbolism underscored by its very name, which refers to a maritime pirate society that emerged in response to the divine right absolutism of European monarchies in the 17th century at the mouth of the Bouregreg River in Morocco.
This name—SALÉ—is borrowed here as a powerful lure to seize the opportunity to invent the unprecedented, to prioritize rebellious audacity, and to formulate new, vernacularized languages—languages of practice, much like maritime languages.
This project draws its inspiration from the symbolism of casting off, wandering, deterritorialization, and sabotage.
The nomadic pirate stations aspire to their deterritorialization, implemented with the support of the Arts2 School of Arts in Mons (Belgium), ALBA in Beirut (Lebanon), INBA in Tetouan (Morocco), ENSAD-Paris (France), and the El Madina Art Center in Alexandria (Egypt), and the French Institute in Palermo (Italy).
These initiatives bring together artists engaged in the production of experimental sound content that aims, among many other goals, to challenge established listening conventions.
Languages and narratives will be diverse, and similarities will not be forced—no single narrative lineage will prevail.
Hacking means unleashing the potential of the virtual within the present and perpetually redefining what is presented as immutable and inevitable.
Artists—among others—possess this ability to hack, to decontextualize and refractionize possibilities, as well as to harness technologies in unexpected ways.
They are invited to join together in writing new narratives.

These partners form the heart of SALÉ. The project’s protagonists—young artists—come from this network, which hosts workshops led by artists from the Externationale Pirate. They are the cornerstones of this experimental and transnational project. In September, pop-up radio stations will emerge from these allied territories, in conjunction with the one at the Wallonia-Brussels Center/Paris, aka Le Vaisseau.
***Externationale Pirate
The Externationale d’Artistes Pirates is an informal community of artists conceived by Stéphanie Pécourt—the project’s initiator—who reimagine mediums and technologies and whose work is grounded in pirate philosophies and hermeneutics. These artists are the ones who lead workshops within the allied territories and participate in the Amarrages.
